Welcome to The Soulful Sabbatical.

A sabbatical doesn’t have to be a well-earned reward after years of dedication. You can choose to take a sabbatical every day— a break from the monotony and the chaos.

Sabbatical (noun): a break or change from a normal routine.

A sabbatical is often seen as something earned. But, why do we have to earn rest? Are we not worthy of the time to reflect on who we are, what we are doing, and why? Do we not deserve to reground ourselves in the purpose behind our dedication to the work? A sabbatical doesn’t have to be a well-earned reward after years of dedication. You can choose to take a sabbatical every day— a break from the monotony and the chaos.

What is the soulful sabbatical? It is a space that encourages intentional disconnect to reconnect with your soul. Why our souls? Our souls are the deepest parts of us that hide behind the masks we share with others. Sometimes, our souls are so hidden that we think the masks are who we are. The soul is where we find our authentic selves and our innate gifts. It is our soul that grounds us when we feel lost in the world or in the tasks that aid our survival. Can you connect with your soul? What is it saying?

When was the last time you sat with yourself and looked within? When was the last time you faced a problem without the lens of unverified or unsolicited external influences? What is your worldview? Are you living in this worldview or in the shadows of others? The goal of the soulful sabbatical is to encourage answering those questions because I believe connectedness to one’s deeper self, the soul, is one of the keys to remaining grounded throughout the ebbs and flows of life.

In this space, I hope to build a community centered on reflection, release, and rest. I will share reflections often in the context of a current read. These reflections aim to encourage self-connectedness and worldview identification. I will offer journal prompts to help release the thoughts that act as barriers to connecting with our deepest selves. I will curate playlists filled with soul-stirring music that will encourage rest and soulful reverie.

Welcome to The Soulful Sabbatical.

Grounding is found in self-connectedness. I believe connectedness to one’s deeper self, their soul, is one of the keys to remaining grounded throughout the ebbs and flows of life
